Laurel Shulman

As Business Operations Manager, Laurel shapes and implements data strategies across the Foundation.  Her role involves creating data-driven solutions, testing assumptions, and ensuring cross-departmental operations, ultimately enabling the Foundation to make informed decisions and better serve the Triangle.  She thrives in the in-between spaces across teams, constituents, systems, and tools.

Laurel’s career spans 15+ years working within the nonprofit sector. Before she joined the Foundation in 2017. she worked with organizations that focus on environmental justice and resilience. Since moving to the Triangle, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Weaver Community Housing Association as well as Community Empowerment Fund, and sat on the Advisory Council for The Marjorie.

A bibliophile and marathoner, in her free time Laurel can be found running on the American Tobacco Trail, spending time with her children and partner, and daydreaming of trips to National Parks.
