Kassel Smit Make A Difference Scholarship

Purpose

The Kassel Smit “Make a Difference” Fund:  a fund created in memory of Kassel Smit whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 16.  “Make a Difference” is what Kassel lived by and exemplified.  The Fund will support students that make a difference in people’s lives.

Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded to individuals who have Kassel-like character traits.  Applicants will submit an essay explaining how they show these characteristics and how they have made a difference. Students also submit two supportive letters from Cary High staff or a community adult leader.

$2,500

How To Obtain An Application

Eligible student may obtain an application from the Cary High School Guidance office.  Students may also be nominated by a Cary High School teacher or staff member with the consent of the student being nominated.
