What did the Foundation Raise Funds For?

Simply put, organizations addressing poverty. Poverty cannot be simplified as a direct consequence of a lack of affordable housing, unemployment, or poor health.  Instead, Triangle Community Foundation believes that it must be viewed with a broader outlook that considers the unique challenges of marginalized families and individuals.  By providing funding and resources, we are building the capacity of local organizations successfully increasing access to housing, employment, and mental and physical health in order to address persistent poverty in our region.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give. 92Y, a cultural center in New York City since 1874, conceptualized Giving Tuesday as a new way of linking individuals and causes to strengthen communities and encourage giving. The goal is to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to charities and causes they celebrate, and help create a better world. Giving Tuesday harnesses the power of social media to create a global movement dedicated to giving around the world.
