About Maurice
Maurice Malfatti co-founded Blue Heron in 2011. He oversees the firm’s operations, corporate and investment strategy, and portfolio construction and management for Blue Heron’s funds. He cultivates the firm’s relationships and pipeline opportunities and is actively involved in the visioning and development of the value-creation business plan for each asset and the oversight of the plan’s execution. He serves on the investment committees for Blue Heron’s funds.
He has over 20 years of real estate experience in finance, capital markets, acquisitions, dispositions, development, construction, brokerage, property management, operations, and business and organizational development.
He also co-founded, operated, and profitably exited several ventures, including real estate investments and an operating company in property maintenance and construction. From 2000 to 2005, Maurice was one of four partners at Kabrik Trading, a New York based broker-dealer, where he served as an equities sales trader and was instrumental in the firm’s growth from a 4-person to 25-person firm.
He is a NC-licensed real estate broker, active member of the Urban Land Institute, Active supporter of Habitat for Humanity, and a regular participant of CEO Build and corporate sponsorship Team Build days.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University
