As 2023 draws to a close, I am grateful to reflect on 40 years spent striving to make the Triangle region the best it can be. We are able to do so from the tremendous support and generosity from you, our fundholders! The trust you place in Triangle Community Foundation inspires the entire team, and has allowed us to grant over $20 million to nonprofit organizations since the start of the calendar year. Thank you!
With the end-of-year giving season now upon us, and as you begin to finalize any grants you’d like to request or gifts you’d like to add to the fund you advise, we wanted to share deadline information as well as gift instructions as you make your plans.
Grant Requests submitted through our Donor Portal by December 4th will be mailed out to nonprofit organizations by December 31, 2023. Grant requests made after December 4th will be mailed to nonprofit organizations in January 2024. If you need assistance using the Donor Portal, we’d be happy to walk you through it or make accommodations if needed. Please email our team at donorservices@trianglecf.org and we’ll set up a time to talk.
If you advise an endowed fund, just a reminder that the spendable balance must be granted by December 31st. If you wish to make grant requests that will be sent to nonprofit organizations before December 31, 2023, please follow the grant deadlines above.
If the spendable balance is not granted, it will be reinvested when we allocate new spendable balances in late January and post them back to December 31st. Endowed fundholders have received regular communication about this in the past; if you’re unsure if this applies to you, please contact your fund liaison.

*Please contact your fund liaison if you need to make special arrangements to drop off any donations, particularly during the dates the office is open, December 27, 28, and 29. We are closed December 25, 26, and January 1.
