Laura Virkler

About Laura

With a background in systems integration consulting with Accenture, Laura has spent the last 20 years working mainly with educational and environment nonprofits, whether as an active volunteer, a committee member, or as a member of the Board. She also Chair’s the Board of the FM Kirby Foundation, a place-based foundation that works to create strong, healthy communities while encouraging self-reliance. Laura has previously served on the Boards of the Triangle Land Conservancy, the NC Zoological Society, and Durham Academy, and currently serves on the Boards of The Hill Learning Center and the FM Kirby Foundation. Laura lives in Durham with her husband, Drayton, and their three children, Ella, Sumner, and Henry.
