About Jack

Jack Walker is one of the founding partners of Walker Lambe, and has been practicing law for almost 50 years, serving clients and their families in matters including estate planning, trust and estate administration, tax planning, business succession planning, financial planning, and representation of nonprofit organizations. He has practiced in Durham his entire career and was the first attorney in Durham to be designated a Board-Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law. Jack has served as a member of the American Bar Association, as a member of the Section on Taxation, North Carolina Bar Association, Durham County Bar Association, Durham-Orange Estate Planning Council, and Duke University Estate Planning Council. Jack frequently conducts educational seminars on estate planning and related topics for lawyers, financial professionals, and community organizations.

Jack has served on the boards of over 30 local community non-profit charities, some of those being the United Way, Durham County Hospital Corporation, Foundation for Better Health of Durham, Duke Heart Center, Durham Academy, Emily Krzyzewski Family Life Center and the Triangle Community Foundation. Jack also provided legal counsel for 25 years at the Triangle Community Foundation where he is a member of The Leadership Council. He has served as a director of the UNC Law Foundation, a member of the Davidson College Board of Visitors and serves on the boards of three private foundations.

In his free time, Jack is an accomplished musician and has performed with the Chapel Hill Philharmonia, Durham Symphony, Triangle Brass Band, Durham Community Concert Band, and the Durham Medical Orchestra.

Jack has been named a Super Lawyer in Law and Politics Magazine, is a recipient of the Leaders in the Law award, and has been selected by legal peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in Trusts and Estates.
