Alice Kirby Horton
About Alice Kirby
Alice Horton has lived in North Carolina since 1985 when she and her husband, Trig (George A. Horton III), moved to Hillsborough to create a family beef cattle and horse farm. She was the manager of that for 20 years, while serving in many volunteer roles: Durham Academy Board of Trustees, co chair of its capital campaign, Sarah P. Duke Board of Advisors and chair, director of the F. M. Kirby Foundation and Triangle Community Foundation. For the last 20 years she has also served on the Wake Forest University Board of Trustees. In the meantime the three children raised on the farm have produced eight grandchildren who make life very full. Alice and Trig live in Durham and Key Largo, Florida.
