Triangle Donors Forum

February 10, 2017

Changing Demographics, Widening Inequality, Stalled Social Mobility…
What Else is a Donor to Do?

Equity remains at the center of our dialogue and work here at Triangle Community Foundation. We were glad to see so many of you at our last Triangle Donors Forum where we explored what it means to apply an equitable “lens” to your philanthropy. If you missed it, don’t despair! Part 2 of our program will bridge the discussions as we take an even deeper look at how equity impacts your giving, no matter what causes you care about and support.

Equity & Shared Prosperity: Growing Together, Not Apart (Part 2)

We will continue the learning and discussion by looking at “systems change” as a pathway to equitable and long-lasting community impact. What exactly are “systems,” and how can donors help change them? The Foundation’s equity thought partner, Gita Gulati-Partee of OpenSource Leadership Strategies, Inc., will guide this conversation, including a real-life case story of a local nonprofit and its donors investing in equitable systems change. Together, we will explore how to weed out systems that harm the most vulnerable in our region, ultimately holding back our shared prosperity, and grow equitable systems that enable everyone to thrive.

We look forward to seeing you. Together we can make a difference in our community.

Come see our new space! If you weren’t able to attend our open house last month, join Foundation staff after the Forum for a tour of our new home in The Frontier!
