Kathryn Williams is a Fundraising Consultant, with over 24 years of experience working with nonprofits across North Carolina to support their prospect research, grant writing, case and marketing materials development, event planning, and other donor cultivation and education efforts.
Kathryn’s development career began at Capital Development Services in 1993. As Director of Marketing, Operations & Publications, she was responsible for all company marketing efforts, including proposal and contract writing, presentations and workshops, direct mail, advertising, press releases and website development. She also oversaw all company communications systems, publications, operations and databases, as well as hiring, training and supervising associated staff. From 2006-2012, Kathryn served as Associate Director for Community Development and Grant Writer for the YMCA of the Triangle. Among her duties, she was responsible for prospect research and grant writing efforts and supported the creation of campaign materials, presentations and donor lists. She also assisted with the planning and successful implementation of campaign events and Association-wide training.
In 2011, Kathryn began working independently as a Fundraising Consultant. Her nonprofit clients include the Junior League of Raleigh, Frankie Lemmon School/Foundation, Camp Sea Gull/Camp Seafarer, Be Active North Carolina, J. Smith Young YMCA (Lexington, NC), Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle, Prevent Child Abuse NC, Families Together (formerly PLM Families Together), InterAct, Dix Visionaries, NC Modernist Houses (formerly Triangle Modernist Archive), NC Child (formerly Action for Children NC), and Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels.
Currently, Kathryn is an Associate with moss+ross, a Triangle-based fundraising consulting firm. There, she assists with marketing and communications materials and has supported several clients with their development needs, including the Durham Collaborative to End Family Homelessness, UNC Wesley Campus Ministry, Healing Transitions, The Green Chair Project, SAFEchild, and Wake Education Partnership. Kathryn was raised in Raleigh, NC, and is a 1990 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wake Forest University, with a Masters Degree in Psychology from the College of William & Mary. She currently serves as Chair of the Donor Development Committee for the Triangle Community Foundation. She also sings in the Junior League of Raleigh Chorus. Kathryn lives in Raleigh with her husband, Murray, and their daughter, Caroline.
