Drew Woten

Masters of Social Work Intern

About Drew

Drew joins us for a year-long internship placement through the UNC School of Social Work. During his time at TCF, he will be supporting scholarship application management and outreach, and working with the Foundation’s education programs broadly.

Drew is entering his final year of the dual degree program at the UNC School of Social Work and Duke Divinity School. He will graduate in May of 2020 with a Master of Social Work degree from UNC and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University. Drew earned his BA from Furman University, where he majored in both Economics and Urban Studies. Prior to settling in the Triangle, Drew lived in Washington DC for three years where he managed care services offered to individuals with intellectual disabilities, and provided case management services for individuals receiving Permanent Supporting Housing. Drew is passionate about promoting social equity through holistic community programs, and helping to bridge urban-rural divides within North Carolina.

In his free time, Drew enjoys spending time outside, and relaxing with friends and family. He lives in Durham with his wife, Katie, and their dog, Lady.

How I give back to the community

  1. Supporting and volunteering with local nonprofits
  2. Regularly donating blood to the American Red Cross
  3. Being a friend to my neighbors

If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.
