"Service to mankind, broadly or individually, is the greatest fulfillment in life"

The Foundation's Founder, Nobel Laureate, Dr. George H. Hitchings

Nobel Laureate Dr. George Hitchings founded Triangle Community Foundation on that very principle, and we continue to be guided by it today. We honor those individuals who commit resources to philanthropy by naming the Foundation a beneficiary in their wills, trusts, insurance policies, or retirement assets through the George H. Hitchings Legacy Society.

Beyond simply memorializing the names of these visionary philanthropists who have made estate or planned gifts, the Hitchings Society serves as an example or inspiration for others who may not realize the tremendous opportunity their own planning might offer for charitable giving.

The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the Hitchings Society Members, who have collectively committed more than $100 million in future charitable gifts. Their generosity will make a difference in the vitality of our community for generations to come.
