Donor Only Events

Triangle Community Foundation hosts events throughout the year for our donors, engaging them in regional topics, introducing them to thought leaders in philanthropy, and providing opportunities for continued philanthropic learning. Donors are welcome to attend any and all events that appeal to them, in addition to being encouraged to attend the Foundation’s public Community Gatherings. These events are invitation only.

Donor to Donor

Connect, Share Knowledge, Support, and Resources

Donors are invited to connect with their charitable peers in a small, intimate group setting to gain knowledge, support, and resources for giving. Past events have explored women’s issues in the Triangle and education.

Donor Workshop Series

Celebrating Philanthropy, and Donor Legacy

Designed to build on our donors’ knowledge of the region and philanthropy and led by an expert Foundation staff member, this series ranges widely from planned giving training, to family philanthropy resources, to a deeper dive into the focus areas of the Foundation.

Grants in Action Tours

Grantmaking: Arts, Community Development, Education, and the Environment

Donors are invited to participate in Grants in Action Tours, designed to highlight the impact of their grantmaking, specifically through the Foundation’s focus areas of Arts, Community Development, Education, and the Environment. Tours are typically held in the community and include discussion with our grantee partners.

Giving Circle Gathering

Celebrating Successes

Giving Circle members are invited to join the Foundation in celebration of their accomplishments throughout the year and discuss common successes and challenges in the collective giving sector. This event is held annually at the Foundation, and many of our region’s Giving Circle leaders attend.

Nonprofit Only Events

Triangle Community Foundation recognizes that our relationship and partnership with local nonprofits is vital to the health of our community and offers ways for local nonprofit organizations to engage with our staff through education and discussion. Registration is required for these events.

Due to COVID-19, we have postponed, cancelled, or moved to virtual events, but are always looking for opportunities to connect as a community.

Grant Program Information Sessions

Prior to each grant cycle at the Foundation, expert staff hold several information sessions designed to walk nonprofit staff through the process of applying for a grant, eligibility requirements, and specific grant program information. These are open to all nonprofits who are interested in applying and are attended by hundreds of organizations throughout the year.

Nonprofit Workshop Series

Designed to provide a space for nonprofits to engage with Foundation staff and grow organizational capacity through continued education, the Nonprofit Workshop Series is held throughout the year. Topics in the past have included Planned Giving, Marketing and Communications Tools, and more.

Community Gatherings

Triangle Community Foundation hosts several public events designed to connect the nonprofit and philanthropic communities around continued learning about our region’s successes and challenges. These are attended by hundreds of dedicated people in our community every year. Registration is required for these events.

Due to COVID-19, we have postponed, cancelled, or moved to virtual events, but are always looking for opportunities to connect as a community.

Triangle Community Artists Gallery Receptions

As part of the Foundation’s focus on the arts, our office space also serves as a rotating art gallery. Through this partnership with the Durham Art Guild (DAG), we are supporting and fostering local artists, and encouraging our community to connect and engage in meaningful conversation inspired by art. Each art cycle is celebrated with a reception featuring our newest artist and is open to the public.

Community Impact Series

A revamped blend of our past Donor Forums and our What Matters Opening Sessions, The Community Impact Series features a number of events designed to provide education around a current and/or critical issue in our region and encourage participants to interact across sectors as they envision positive and collaborative impact.

What Matters

The Foundation’s signature annual event gathers forward-thinking community leaders from every sector to celebrate the region’s giving, learn about critical issues, and find commonality in our work.
