About Sarah

Sarah serves the Foundation as Scholarships & Donor Services Officer, providing support for our Scholarship programs, our giving circles, and our donor constituency. She joined the Foundation in January 2015; prior to coming to Triangle Community Foundation, Sarah worked in higher education, most recently at Duke Law School. At Duke Law, Sarah worked jointly in Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs to support students from admission to graduation and beyond.

Sarah is a proud native North Carolinian from New Bern, NC who graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in English and a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Management and Community Practice.  At UNC, Sarah graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was involved with the UNC Center for Public Service and Best Buddies, and also volunteered with the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service. At the School of Social Work, Sarah focused on working with nonprofits and with individuals and families with disabilities.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys baking, reading, watching PBS, and volunteering with great local organizations like TABLE, Dress for Success, Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, and the Triangle chapter of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network. She is also a Leadership Triangle Goodmon Fellow.

Ways Sarah gives back:

  1. Volunteering for local nonprofits
  2. Shopping locally
  3. Providing a helping hand when I can

...but I still think that one of the pleasantest of all emotions is to know that I, I with my brain and my hands, have nourished my beloved few, that I have concocted a stew or a story, a rarity or a plain dish, to sustain them truly against the hungers of the world.
