Community Programs Officer

About Gina

As part of the Community Engagement team, Gina manages a variety of programs that connect the Foundation with Triangle nonprofit organizations.  She coordinates the Capacity Building Partnerships program for community development, the GSK IMPACT Awards program for community health, three environmental conservation grant programs, and other related Foundation initiatives.

After graduating summa cum laude from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Gina received her Master’s degree and Nonprofit Leadership certificate from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  With an education in urban planning and community development, her areas of interest and expertise are affordable housing, caring for the aging population, and neighborhood revitalization.  Gina joined Triangle Community Foundation in 2011 and has played a variety of roles, most recently as the Foundation’s Scholarships Officer.

Gina grew up on a farm in Central Nebraska, and moved to North Carolina in 2009.  Since moving to the Triangle, she has been a volunteer with Orange County’s Project Homeless Connect, the Durham Center for Senior Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is a Goodmon Fellow of Leadership Triangle.  In her free time she enjoys catching up with friends and family, taking ballet classes, and spending time with her three four-legged children, Jilly, Leo, and Charlie.

Ways Gina gives back:

  1. Mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle
  2. Serving on Triangle Family Services‘ board of directors and young professionals network host committee
  3. Helping to plan EarthShare NC’s annual Corporate Earth Day Challenge

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
