Did you know

  • an average of 18% of the Triangle’s children lived in poverty from 2011 to 2013?
  • depending on the county, between 9 and 15% of Triangle adults lacked basic literacy skills in 2003?
  • an average of 5% of the Triangle’s labor force was unemployed between 2011 and 2013?**

Staggering statistics, but…

We believe that our community is on a growing, changing path to greatness. It is up to us, the change-makers in the Triangle, to dive deeper into the real needs in our region, so that we can ensure great impact where it’s needed most. We invite you to learn along with us as we increase our understanding of demographics in the Triangle and how they connect with the larger context of the South.

What you can do…

Donors can join us at our next Triangle Donors Forum for a discussion on “Understanding the Triangle.” We will continue the conversation started in April at our What Matters Luncheon about our region and share the role of the Foundation as a resource for community issues. Bring your input, ideas, thoughts, and questions! We are pleased to feature guest speaker David Dodson of MDC and John Quinterno of South by North Strategies, LTD.

Triangle Donors Forum is a series that convenes the Foundation’s fundholders with trustees from regional foundations and other grantmakers to learn more about community issues, philanthropic topics, and other areas of interest related to serving the needs of the Triangle.

RSVP through personal email invitation by Wednesday, November 4. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Triangle Community Foundation if you have any questions at 919-474-8363.

We look forward to seeing you. Together we can make a difference in our community.
