Many of our local nonprofits participate in challenge & matching grant opportunities throughout the year. We encourage you to support these currently open initiatives through your fund, and maximize your giving.
Twenty-five years ago, North Carolina had the highest infant mortality rate in the nation. State and corporate leaders took action to address this terrible situation and the North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation was created to spearhead statewide efforts to address this problem. Recently, the organization celebrated their founding, and recognized two people who have played an instrumental role locally in addressing infant mortality – Dr. Charles A. Sanders and Dr. Stuart Bondurant.
Knowing the impact that this work has had, Dr. and Ann Sanders have committed to match gifts up to $20,000. In addition, Frank and Julia Daniels have also agreed to match gifts up to $10,000. To learn more about this challenge, click here.
